Email Marketing

Convertkit: I use this for both my personal brand and my pet care education brand. They now have a newsletter builders plan that is free up to 10,000 subscribers. They are also building out apps and a partner network. Overall they've been great to deal with.

For our pet brand they typically send us newsletter sponsorships each month that payout more than the cost for us to use Convertkit.

I've used other CRM's in the past and they didn't seem to care about creators as much as Convertkit do.

Website & Landing pages

Wordpress in general is the best value for money. You can do almost anything you can think of in Wordpress. All of these other platforms with nicer UI's have way less functionality and are 10x the price.

I've used Thrive Themes for about 7 years. Their customer support and product quality has decreased in the last few years but it still seems to be a good balance between ease of use and value for money. They also just increased the price without making the product better since the new owners took over, so I don't really recommend them now. We are testing out Elementor Pro.

Hosting: Nexcess. They've been the best out of the 8 hosting platforms I've tried.

Deadline Funnel: we use this for automating our summits and funnels

Online Course Platform / Memberships & checkouts

WARNING: Do not use Thinkific. I made a review about it here.

Circle.so: I've recently started using Circle for a community based membership area. I do like most of it except that they take an extra percentage on top if you use Circle checkout. This is greedy. No software should ever do that. These platforms also have terrible checkout features and claim to do upsells/bump offers but never can. So I use Thrivecart to take payment and connect them via Zapier/Make.

Thrivecart: I purchased this 7+ years ago and have made a lot of money through it. For a one-time payment its solid. There could be many things improved but you can't beat the price to quality ratio.

We also use Samcart but it's super expensive, their support isn't that great (and they try to charge you extra for it which is ridiculous), and the onboarding is a mess. But it is a really solid checkout software. The best I've used. I would only recommend Samcart if you're doing more than $20k/m AND have more than 5 products. Use Thrivecart until then.

Streaming & Video

Streamyard: this is our preferred streaming platform for higher quality interviews and livestreams

Zoom: we use this for our online workshops, so hosts can see and interact with attendees.

Google Meet: we use this for internal team meetings since we have Google Workspace.

Customer Service

Freshdesk: For most people the free version is all you need.
