Last week in the community I was asked the question: “Could we automate loading in sample HTML from example newsletters and have our outputs configured and the results given to us in HTML format with global brand logo, and color ways built into the process so you can quickly generate a branded newsletter in the formatting you like.” In the past tasks like this have been possible to achieve if you’re a developer. But most of us aren’t… So if it wasn’t an essential task then it makes sense to not worry about automating it, and either, just hire someone to do it, or spend 10 minutes each time you create an email and format it yourself. This is what I now call “The Old Way Of Doing Business”. Sure, 10 minutes isn’t that much extra… But what happens is it becomes 10 minutes here, then another 10 minutes somewhere else… Then all of a sudden you’re wasting 10 hours a week doing minor tasks instead of growing your business. “The New Way Of Doing Business” is having the discipline to identify these tiny tasks that you do more than once and automate it. This is the future. It’s how you’ll generate 3-5x the profit, while working less and without hiring more people. This Youtube video is different. I created it off the cuff with no real plan. I simply thought about the question for 30 seconds and then started building. It’s probably slow and boring for most people, but a small percentage of people will find it really useful. The purpose of this video is to share more of my thought process and execution process when I’m approaching an automation task. That way, you can solve tiny tasks like this one in your business too!
