9 years later, PayPal still hates me

Ever have one of those weeks that feels like a year?

That was this week.

The High: Content Automation OS 3.0

I’ve been heads down rebuilding our flagship product, Content Automation OS.

In the next few days we’re about to drop version 3.0.

The beta testing feedback has left me speechless.

Not the usual “this is pretty good” responses, but messages that make you stop and re-read them:

Felo:
“So far looks like a great job, didn’t expect this huge leap from the last version, you’re definitely raising the bar with the Airtable interfaces.”
Joseph:
“I must say, your project is truly outstanding—I’m at a loss for words.
Hatem:
“This is a great update to the previous version. Congrats.”
Wade:
“Wonderful upgrades to the system Mitch Asser! Thank you! Definitely some innovative things that nobody else is talking about doing. Love the prompt library, AI models tables and workflows with the Interfaces much improved.”
Nhật:
“Wow, very nice!!”
Audra:
“Already rolling it into Softr to see how it plays. Super clean… wondering if there are any issues of dropping the prompt since the Makes are so big. Look forward to the testing. Great job Mitch… this is sexy as hell.”

The rebuild started as a simple update. But sometimes you have to throw everything out and start fresh. That’s exactly what we did.

What used to take 3-4 hours to setup automations now takes minutes.

We cut our automations from 24 scenarios to 5 – and they produce even better ouptuts.

Instead of confusing tables, we now have sexy interfaces.

It’s the kind of product that makes you proud to put your name on it.

Version 3.0 is officially going to drop in the next few days.

I’ll send more details about it then.

The Unexpected Win: YouTube Deep Dive

This week I also published what might be my most valuable YouTube video yet: 9 Advanced AI Automation Tips.

The response? It’s already one of my highest-performing videos.

The tip everyone’s talking about? How to import Make.com automations without remapping everything.

(If you’ve ever spent hours remapping a workflow, you know why this is huge)

The Low: The PayPal Saga

Then there was PayPal…

I spent half a day wrestling with their Woocommerce Integration.

I’m sure I’ve wasted a solid 100 hours of my life trying to fix PayPal integration errors over the last 9 years.

No matter what checkout tool I’ve used it’s always caused problems.

It’s still not resolved.

And I’m in the predictable cycle of:

  • Woocommerce blaming Paypal
  • Paypal blaming Woocommerce
  • Funnelkit telling me it “should” be fine

The Reality of Building

The best part about weeks like this?

They remind you why you build in public.

Because somewhere out there, another founder is:

  • Celebrating a product breakthrough
  • Then immediately fighting with a payment processor
  • Wondering if this is normal

It is.

This is the real founder journey.

Not the perfectly curated LinkedIn posts.

But the messy, chaotic, beautiful reality of building something that matters to you, and hopefully others in the world too!!

Talk next week,
Mitch

P.S. If you want to lock in a 50% discount for Content Automation OS before the 3.0 launch – now’s the time! Because the price is going up this weekend.
